More than 700 persons are believed to have died in the horrific Battle of landslides in Gansu province, China, the country is grappling with the largest floods during the past decade.

The BBC said the mud crashed into residential areas with tremendous strength that the wall of the 7-storey building collapsed like paper. Rescue workers continued digging by hand to search more than 1,000 people still missing.
Yesterday, the soldiers have rescued a 52-year-old man from the rubble 50 hours after the landslide disaster occurred. The rescue team also heard a cry for “weak” somewhere.
Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao, asking them to keep searching until you find the last survivor. But time passed and this hope faded. Relatives of the victims have not all terrible. Meanwhile, a woman is to not believe her husband and three children died less than 20 years old until they see a body.
Chinese officials said the total number of people killed had reached 700. Weather forecast said in the coming days in Gansu will have heavy rains and landslides can continue again.
Last week, heavy rains accompanied by landslides occurred in the district Zhugqu, Gansu Province. The thick layer of mud flattened area 500 km long 500 m wide, Xinhua said.
Landslides occurred as China faces worst floods a decade makes over 2100 people dead, missing and millions homeless. President Hu Jintao has conducted a meeting with ministers yesterday to discuss ways to resolve disaster.
More than 7000 soldiers, firefighters and medical teams have been to where the landslides occurred. Officials have sent tents, food and drinking water supplies, but increasingly less for roads and bridges in the area was destroyed.
